John Denver was a superstar performer who influenced millions of people through his songs of pop-folk, many of which were inspired by Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. is a native of New Mexico. musician and singer who fell in love with Colorado. Denver's anthems of fame about Colorado have been a major influence on many to relocate to Colorado. G. Brown of Colorado Music Hall of Fame, the curator of this hall of fame, stated: "I don't believe there anyone else who has as much a connection to Colorado in the same way as John Denver." Denver was the first Hall of Fame ever to be inducted. He is now the symbol of Colorado for people worldwide. When I travel, I always come across someone on the opposite part of the globe, one from New Zealand and you say "I'm of Colorado and the first thing that comes out of their mouths is"Oh John Denver! Brown stated. Take Me Home Country Roads is Denver's only Top 10 Hit as a solo artist after having worked with small folk groups. The song was written by Bill Danoff. Danoff initially wrote the song using Johnny Cash's songs in mind, but Denver knew from the first time he heard first versions of the song that it was going to be an instant success. Danoff recorded the song within a couple of days of having performed in Washington D.C. before an crowd that was extremely enthusiastic.
